Einstein Rising and OVO's MACCA project (2022–2024) empowered over 728 women smallholder maize farmers in the Busoga Region of Uganda. Combining tech with agroecology training, financial literacy, and climate prediction tools, it aimed to boost resilience and livelihoods. The pilot leveraged digital platforms like CLIMTAG Africa and Akaboxi for credit and weather data, while establishing long-term support structures. A key outcome was Busujja Millers—a value addition and last-mile delivery initiative that buys farmers' produce and processes it into maize flour sold to schools in underserved communities at pocket-friendly prices, enhancing food security for vulnerable children.
