Sustainable Technology for Africa (ST4A) Seed Program
Our program provides long-term business development support and helps impact based businesses get ready for investment. We also provide expert coaching to propel both early-stage ventures with innovative businesses and growth-stage companies seeking to scale their impact.
We aim to support businesses in green, renewable energy, and clean technology sectors, as well as businesses in equally important sectors with a key focus on sustainability.
Our goal is to foster a thriving ecosystem of social impact-driven enterprises that contribute to a more sustainable future for Africa.
Skills Training & Employment Preparation (STEP) Program
The STEP program is an opportunity for young professionals to gain vital work experience within a social enterprise. This is to empower youth and enable them to increase their employability skills. The program’s objective is to demonstrate the need for professionals in various functions of an enterprise’s operating system or department to enable owners to focus on their core business activities.
Skills for Change
The Skills for Change project addresses the lack of opportunity and financial independence experienced by the women in vulnerable communities. Through this program, women receive practical skills training, gain self-sufficiency, enjoy increased control over their reproductive health, and help uplift their families and community. According to the World Bank, when women are educated and take control of their reproductive decisions, they have fewer and healthier children. Educated women earn twice as much as those who lack an education, and women invest 90 percent of their income back into their families and communities compared with just 35 percent for men. Therefore, the project directly affects the women of Uganda plus everyone in the community. The particular focus on women with children with disabilities for 2021 and expanding into other vulnerable communities ensures that the project impact is being felt in the hardest hit communities.
