This is the agribusiness subsidiary of Einstein Rising. Our mission is to develop and promote the adoption of climate-smart methods, technology, and finance in Africa. Through Climate-Smart Agriculture, we build smallholder farmer group’s capacity to adapt to the impacts of climate change by using an integrated approach to managing landscapes, livestock, forests, and fisheries that address the interlinked challenges of food security and climate change. All this to achieve three outcomes: increased productivity, enhanced resilience, and reduced emissions.

The Measures against Climate Change in Agriculture (MACCA)
Project works primarily with smallholder maize farmers in the 4 districts (Iganga, Kamuli,Luuka, and Mayuge) that comprise the Busoga Kingdom in the Eastern Region of Uganda.
Measures against climate change in agriculture [MACCA] project is aimed at improving on the soil fertility of the depleted soils in Busoga region and uplifting the standard of women in terms of finance since they are the ones who suffer the consequences of poverty in Busoga region

Empowering Entrepreneurs Through Sustainable Investments

The project’s commitment is to empoweri entrepreneurs in the region through targeted investments. By establishing an affordable loans program, providing farmer training, and creating value addition assets, the project aims to catalyze growth and scalability for consortium members. The emphasis is on breaking down financial barriers and equipping entrepreneurs with the necessary tools to enhance their operations sustainably.

Government Collaboration for Systemic Impact

The focus is on the project’s strategic collaboration with government institutions to promote the use of CLIMTAG in the agricultural sector. By engaging with key stakeholders such as agricultural support offices and extension workers, the project seeks to integrate innovative technologies into mainstream practices. This collaborative effort is designed to have a lasting impact beyond the project’s 24-month runtime, fostering systemic change and widespread adoption of sustainable agricultural practices.

Addressing Agricultural Challenges for Lasting Prosperity

The project’s holistic approach to addressing challenges along the agricultural value chain. By combining agroecology/regenerative agriculture training, affordable finance, and market intervention, the project tackles critical obstacles hindering productivity. The ultimate goal is to uplift the region out of dire poverty by not only increasing agricultural output but also boosting household incomes. The section illustrates how the project’s multifaceted interventions contribute to lasting prosperity for individuals and communities in the region.
